Clifton attends Emmanuel with his wife Tammy. They have been members here since 1999. He has served on numerous church committees and council and continues to serve this community in many different ways. He

His parents, Clifton Lee Simmons and the former Elizabeth Inez Caraway are also members of Emmanuel.  He grew up in Gaston and attended the schools of Lexington School District 4.  In College, he studied Mathematics and Computer Science earning a Bachelor’s degree from Newberry College in 1985.

He worked as a computer programmer for 27 years at CSC (formerly known as Policy Management Systems).  In 2013, he moved to the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles and continues to serve the citizens of South Carolina as an IT Director.

He married the former Tammy Margaret Stockman on October 1, 1988.  They met in person New Year’s Eve in 1986.  They have two children.  Tiffany Elizabeth Simmons, and the late Clifton Lee Simmons.

He is active in the Freemason Community,  and is also an avid bowler having served on both the Midlands Youth and the Midlands Adult Board. He is a member of the Town of Pine Ridge Zoning Board of Appeals, and continues to serve the community in numerous capacities.
